News from the back office - the Hayes & Co team

Since our last Newsletter in Autumn we have welcomed Kathy Porter as our new Tax Semi Senior based at Blackburn. Kathy has many years valuable experience in personal taxation gained with the Revenue and in private practice, and will be working closely with Joan Collinson, Tax Manager.

Many of you will have spoken to Azra Hussain on our Reception desk at Blackburn over the last couple of years. Azra has now moved on to a trainee accountancy position with a major employer in Samlesbury and we wish her every success.

Replacing Azra on Reception is Samantha ('Sam') Wood. Sam has good experience of working in a busy professional office, and is looking forward to speaking to you over the coming months!

Tarleton clients will be sorry to hear that Nicola Holden left us at the beginning of May. Nicola had been with us for almost four years, working on accounts analysis and bookkeeping, helping to run the office and trying to keep Gerry in order! Nicola has left to work with her husband, and we are currently recruiting to fill her post - she's a hard act to follow.

Hayes & Co actively recruits young people keen to make a career in accountancy, and supports them in their professional training. Congratulations to Susan Nicholson for her success in the summer 08 ACCA exams, and to Kayleigh Suddick and Ellie Moffitt for their success in the AAT exams. Carmel Brown at our Atherton office recently began her professional training and will be taking AAT exams in May.
